The mission of the church is to preach and teach the gospel of Jesus Christ. Every believer is given a command to be a missionary. Whether in private conversation or in public preaching, Jesus teaches us in Matthew 28:19-20, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you.” With this command, as believers, we should be as passionate of the “Go” command of Christ as we are of the “do” command. Our mission is to make disciples, baptize them, and then teach them. And we should always remember the divine promise of our resurrected Lord, “Lo, I am with you alway (Matthew 28:20).” We should never be fearful that we are going alone; rather, we can be assured of His presence with us forever. Every member of the church should be engaged and participate into witnessing for Christ.
Our failure to witness for Christ is a serious matter, and we will suffer loss for failure to warn others about the truth of the gospel. As written in Proverbs 11:30, “He that winneth souls is wise,” refers to believers witnessing and turning sinners from the error of their ways to trusting Christ as Savior. Thus, souls saved are souls gained to God. In II Corinthians 5:20, Paul proclaims us as ambassadors for Christ and the need to be reconciled believers back to God. As Christians, we should always be in good standing with God.
This year’s Missions Day 2012—one of Beulah’s annual events celebration will be held on September 23. The Missions Ministries are comprised of thirteen (13) groups. During Missions Month, several events are planned to further promote “2012 The Year of Victory” at Beulah Missionary Baptist Church. “Missions for Victory Soul Winning” celebration will begin with a Prayer Breakfast on September 8. Thereafter, your presence and prayers are welcome at Missions Night of Prayer, sponsored by our Intercessory Prayer Ministry, on September 21. The culmination service will be observed on Sunday, September 23. Our speaker at 7:30 a.m. service is Reverend Jackie Robinson; and at 10:45 a.m. service is Reverend Michael Lewis. The month long celebration ends with the Love Lift Lead Evangel Conference, sponsored by the Ministry of Evangelism and will be held on September 27-28.
“It is wise, it is a command and it is a calling” designed by God for all believers of Christ to be witnesses to unbelievers; to make disciples, baptize them, and teach them. In addition, we should always remember the divine promise of our resurrected Lord—“Lo, I am with you alway (Matthew 28:20).” We should never be fearful that we are going alone; rather, we can be assured of His presence with us always. Every believer in the church should be engaged and participate in witnessing for Christ.
